Overview

The Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant will work in the Emergency Department in Salem, Virginia, providing emergency medical care to patients. This locum tenens role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients while collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide emergency medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department
  • Perform evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in accordance with Emergency Medicine standards
  • Collaborate with onsite physician team and support staff
  • Participate in consults, documentation, and coordination of patient care
  • Manage emergency procedures as required within scope

Required skills

  • Active Virginia license
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (BC/BE in ABEM or AOBEM)
  • Active DEA Certification
  • NP/PA certification (NCCA or ANCC)
  • ACLS certification
  • ATLS proof once in career for MD/DO
  • Recent Main Emergency Department experience
