Job Description

Overview

The Electrical Estimator at The Kiely Family of Companies is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. The role requires a detailed review of project plans and specifications, coordination with various stakeholders, and effective management of multiple bids in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for electrical construction projects.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Perform detailed take-offs and coordinate with internal teams and vendors.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits as necessary.
  • Review, process, and respond to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
  • Qualify and verify proposals for completeness and compliance.
  • Analyze architectural and electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Manage procurement processes and produce bid analysis reports.
  • Maintain proficiency in estimating systems and software.
  • Communicate discrepancies in documents with the design team.

Required skills

  • 5-10 years of experience in electrical estimating or electrical construction.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction methods.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Experience with estimating software (McCormick, Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
