Job Description

Overview

The Early Intervention Specialist (EIS) at PermiaCare provides assessments, interventions, and support for children from birth to 3 years old with developmental delays or disabilities. This role involves working closely with families and an interdisciplinary team to deliver specialized skills training in both in-home and community settings, all while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and maintaining accurate records.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide specialized skills training as prescribed on Individualized Family Service Plans (ISFPs)
  • Conduct initial and ongoing developmental assessments and participate in IFSP planning
  • Identify child/family needs and offer case management across educational, social, medical, and developmental areas
  • Monitor developmental progress of children on caseload and coordinate services effectively
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations and legislative requirements
  • Demonstrate a trauma-informed approach in interactions and maintain confidentiality of sensitive records

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Special Education, Child Development, or related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in Early Childhood Development or related field
  • Knowledge of infant and child development and early intervention techniques
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families and professionals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Valid Texas Driver's license and auto liability insurance
