Job Description

Overview

The Division Order Analyst at Countrymark Refining and Logistics is responsible for analyzing legal documents related to mineral and leasehold ownership transfers within the oil and gas sector. This role ensures accurate ownership determination, timely revenue distribution, and compliance with relevant statutes by applying established rules and legal interpretations from industry attorneys.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret legal documents including contracts, deeds, and probate records
  • Calculate mineral and leasehold ownership interests
  • Ensure accurate and timely revenue distribution for mineral and leasehold owners
  • Consult with oil and gas attorneys on title issues
  • Review and resolve suspense accounts and unclaimed property exposure
  • Monitor changes in oil and gas statutes affecting ownership
  • Review and approve curative documents to resolve title defects
  • Provide guidance on payment and ownership discrepancies
  • Attend job-related training and perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • 5-7 years experience in Division Order, Oil and Gas Land, and/or as a Paralegal
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Certified Division Order Analyst (CDOA) or Certified Professional Landman (CPL) preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Solid understanding of oil and gas accounting principles
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
