BenGlassLaw is seeking a Disability Associate Attorney to join their well-regarded plaintiff-side law firm in Fairfax, Virginia. The firm specializes in long-term disability and insurance cases, focusing on providing exceptional advocacy and problem-solving for clients facing complex insurance disputes. The role offers a collaborative environment and significant opportunities for mentorship and professional growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Review disability denial letters to determine case viability
  • Develop appeal and litigation strategies
  • Draft administrative appeals, legal briefs, and motions
  • Conduct legal research on ERISA and insurance law
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and litigation preparation
  • Consult with clients on insurance company buyout offers
  • Collaborate with the disability team to build evidence-based cases
  • Maintain communication with clients and case stakeholders

Required skills

  • Juris Doctor degree
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent analytical and communication abilities
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems
  • Ability to think critically about complex legal issues
