Summary:The Director of Nursing and Clinical Operations assumes administrative, clinical and financial responsibility for nursing practice, operational oversight and administration of the assigned patient care units, clinical departments, outpatient services and clinics, and associated provider practices. The position directs initiative and strategy execution to drive achievement of organizational and departmental strategic goals, initiatives and priorities.Responsibilities:1. Adds value as a key member of management; understands the business, financials, industry, customers and strategy.2. Supervises employees, provides direction, coaches, trains and develops, and manages performance to company goals and expectations.3. Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure controls and identifies and executes plans to support financial stewardship.4. Provides visionary goals and strategic plans for designated departments.5. Plans for the delivery and evaluates of quality of care rendered to all adult and pediatric patients in areas of responsibility.6. Mentors, directs, guides, and consults with Nurse Managers and Department Managers toward meeting individual department goals.7. Responsible for management of fiscal resources, operational policies and standards of performance for departments.8. Strives to meet department, nursing division, and hospital goals through inter- and intra- department collaboration and active participation on appropriate committees.9. Works collaboratively with physician leadership and other medical staff and administrative team members.10.Oversees administrative functions of provider practices in areas of responsibility.11. Carries out the leadership and administrative responsibilities of management in an accurate, timely and results oriented manner.12.Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.13.Other duties as required.Other information:Technical Expertise1. Experience in healthcare is required; pediatric experience is preferred.2. Demonstrates skill in leadership, business, professional accountability, advocacy, relationship management and networking.3. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.4. Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.Education and Experience1. Education: BSN is required. Master's degree (ex: MSN, MBA, MHA, MPH) is required2. Licensure: Licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Ohio is required3. Certification: Current Health Care Provider BLS training certification from the American Heart Association is required Board Certification in nursing is preferred4.
