Overview

HCA Florida Citrus Hospital is seeking a Director of Respiratory Therapy to oversee twenty-four hour operations, practice, and quality of care. The director will ensure the provision of quality services and maintain appropriate staffing levels, staff competency, and compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure provision of quality services by maintaining appropriate resources and staffing levels
  • Oversee documentation of care to ensure it is timely, accurate, and complete
  • Collaborate with healthcare team regarding patient treatment and discharge planning
  • Educate staff on guidelines for reporting significant medical errors or unanticipated outcomes in patient care
  • Monitor and report trends in occurrences to staff quarterly

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a health related field
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
  • Current BLS certification
  • Three to five years' experience as a registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Supervisory or management experience
  • Knowledge of State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
