Overview

Skilled Nursing of Albany is looking for a knowledgeable Director of Nursing (DON) to manage all nursing operations at their facility in Voorheesville, New York. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in long-term care and a strong commitment to high-quality resident care and staff development.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise and support all nursing staff within the facility
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, and retention of nursing staff
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and ongoing staff competency
  • Monitor nursing staff performance and conduct assessments
  • Maintain awareness of clinical incidents and ensure proper follow-up
  • Assess and support the health needs of all residents

Required skills

  • Current New York State RN license
  • Prior DON experience in long-term care
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in long-term care
