Overview

The Director of Engineering at Lane Enterprises is responsible for overseeing engineering operations, managing projects, personnel, and processes, while providing strategic direction that aligns with organizational needs. This role also positions Lane as an industry leader in various engineering committees and ensures compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate engineering projects, personnel, and processes for timely and quality outcomes.
  • Analyze engineering needs and recommend staffing strategies.
  • Serve as an industry leader on ASTM, AASHTO, NCSPA, and PPI committees.
  • Participate in technical discussions with firms, agencies, and groups.
  • Oversee technical training and guide training delivery to personnel.
  • Guide product improvements and new product development, particularly in pipe design and stormwater management.
  • Collaborate with government agencies and stakeholders to ensure proper application of products.
  • Develop internal policies and technical documentation for consistent engineering practices.
  • Ensure product and application compliance with evolving industry standards.

Required skills

  • Experience in product development specific to stormwater and hydraulics.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in drainage product design and construction.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in stormwater management.
