Overview

Olymel is seeking a Principal Maintenance Director to join their dynamic team in Saint-Esprit. This role focuses on managing the maintenance department and ensuring efficiency and quality in operations while promoting a collaborative work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and control maintenance department work.
  • Oversee the budget related to the maintenance department.
  • Coordinate maintenance, repair, and optimization of conventional and automated industrial equipment.
  • Ensure team compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain HACCP and SQF standards.
  • Produce required documentation and facilitate collaboration between departments.
  • Supervise employees, manage work schedules, and prepare compensation documents.
  • Participate in management committees and labor relations committees.
  • Create a supportive team environment focused on achieving objectives.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Required skills

  • Degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related fields.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a unionized industrial setting.
  • Functional English communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and build strong relationships.
  • Leadership skills to develop team autonomy and encourage change.
  • Adaptability and effectiveness under pressure.
