Overview

As a Direct Support Professional at Beacon Specialized Living, you will assist individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to achieve their personal goals and enhance their independence. The role involves ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of clients while supporting their participation in community activities and maintaining compliance with company and regulatory policies.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist individuals in achieving personal goals and participating in community activities
  • Adhere to person-centered and behavior plans for each individual
  • Provide quality care and maintain a safe, healthy environment
  • Cook meals according to dietary specifications
  • Transport individuals to appointments and assist with documentation
  • Complete necessary documentation before the end of shift
  • Maintain cleanliness of home site and individual living spaces
  • Administer medications as needed
  • Report any instances of abuse or neglect immediately

Required skills

  • Knowledge of behavioral support and community engagement
  • Experience in teaching and providing guidance to individuals
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain documentation
