Overview

Amherst College is seeking a Dining Hall Supervisor for its late-night dining services. This full-time position involves managing staff, ensuring customer service excellence, and maintaining food safety standards while working within a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the students.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise casual and student employees in the dining hall
  • Assist with performance evaluations and training of staff
  • Provide operational supervision and ensure cleanliness during service
  • Manage inventory and oversee food safety procedures
  • Handle scheduling, payroll, and employee relations
  • Support and coordinate special events during large college weekends

Required skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in operational management
  • Allergen Awareness Certified
  • Current SERV Safe Manager Certification
  • Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience with employee evaluations and training
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with food service software such as Jamix or Nutrislice
