Job Description

Overview

The Registered Dietitian at Walden Behavioral Care will provide clinical nutrition and meal plans under supervision within the Inpatient and Residential Programs in Dedham, MA. This per diem role involves working with patients of all ages, focusing on treatment for eating disorders and supporting their recovery journey through individualized nutritional care.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive Nutrition Assessments for newly admitted patients within 48 hours of admission
  • Prescribe appropriate meal plans to support identified nutrition goals
  • Work with patients and support persons to promote completion of meal plans
  • Perform individual and group nutritional therapy
  • Participate in treatment team planning and discharge planning
  • Provide effective education to parents and families
  • Communicate progress and activities related to treatment and continuing care plans

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in a related field
  • Experience in an Eating Disorder Program and/or Mental Health setting
  • Experience with menu planning and therapeutic diets
  • Registered Dietitian (RDN) certification
  • Licensed Dietitian in Massachusetts (LDN)
  • Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling
  • Familiarity with therapeutic modalities such as FBT, DBT, CBT, ERP, ACT
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
