Overview

The CT Technologist (Per Diem) at UNC Health conducts procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. This role involves ensuring patient safety, administering contrast agents, and maintaining effective workflows in a healthcare setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Verify patient identification and obtain patient history
  • Conduct CT scans and manipulate images according to protocols
  • Administer oral and IV contrast and establish intravenous lines
  • Maintain thorough understanding of PACS and transmit images
  • Ensure accurate charge information and documentation
  • Maintain a clean work environment and produce quality diagnostic images
  • Precept new employees and students

Required skills

  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or NMTCB(CT)
  • Knowledge of CT algorithms and imaging protocols
  • Experience with PACS management and quality control
  • Current competency in HCP BLS
