Job Description

Overview

UNC Health is seeking a CT Technologist II to conduct complex imaging procedures using Computed Tomography (CT) equipment at Rex CT Scan in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role involves extensive collaboration with various medical teams and is pivotal in ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Conducts complex CT procedures to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
  • Assists radiologists in high-risk invasive diagnostic techniques.
  • Evaluates patient contraindications and coordinates care with medical teams.
  • Performs specific CT procedures and trains CT Tech I team members.
  • Identifies and escalates abnormal scan characteristics to radiologists.
  • Manipulates CT parameters for various exams and analyzes scan data.
  • Triages care for anesthesia exams and provides education to care teams.
  • Administers contrast media and establishes intravenous lines according to protocols.

Required skills

  • Accredited education in Radiological Science
  • Advanced registry in Computed Tomography
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or NMTCB(CT)
  • Three years of experience as a CT Technologist
  • Current competency in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS)
  • Knowledge of CT algorithms and imaging techniques
