Job Description

Overview

BAS Healthcare is seeking a Critical Care/Trauma Physician Assistant to work at a Level I adult trauma center in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. This locum tenens opportunity offers a chance to engage in trauma care for patients of all ages in a supportive environment with state-of-the-art facilities and comprehensive trauma services.

Key responsibilities

  • Function primarily as a trauma hospitalist rounder with some intermittent ED consults
  • Handle 2-15 admissions/ED patients per 24-hour shift
  • Round on 10-14 admitted non-ICU patients or 6 ICU patients per day
  • Manage ventilation and perform procedures including chest tube insertion and suturing
  • Respond to ED for trauma alerts
  • Facilitate patient discharges and ER admissions
  • Provide daily rounding and management of all conditions

Required skills

  • Board Certified (ACNP, AGNP, PA-C)
  • Active Minnesota license
  • ATLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications
  • DEA registration
  • Minimum 1 year of practice as an APP in an inpatient setting
  • Experience in trauma, ICU, and/or orthopedics
  • Proficient in clinical procedures such as central line placement and arterial line placement
  • Experience in ventilator management
