Attorneys at Combs Waterkotte are trusted with responsibility, supported by an experienced team, and given the opportunity to develop as advocates through hands-on courtroom experience.What You'll Do:• Manage an active criminal defense caseload• Appear in court for hearings, docket calls, negotiations, and trials• Communicate directly with clients about case strategy, updates, and next steps• Review discovery and case evidence• Draft motions, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents• Negotiate with prosecutors• Prepare cases for hearings and trial• Work closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and support staff• Help clients navigate some of the most difficult moments of their livesWhat We're Looking For:• J.D. from an accredited law school• Active Missouri & Illinois law licenses• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Strong legal writing and analytical ability• Professional, reliable, organized, and responsive• Comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment• Genuine interest in criminal defense• Courtroom experience or a strong desire to build itWhy Join Combs Waterkotte:Combs Waterkotte has handled more than 10,000 cases and is known for serious, client-centered criminal defense across Missouri and Illinois.
