Overview

The Cost Control Engineer at FCC Construction Inc. is responsible for providing financial support and cost control for construction projects. This role requires collaboration with project teams to develop budgets, track expenditures, and report on financial performance, ensuring that projects remain within budget and meet their financial objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project budgets and forecasts.
  • Conduct cost coding, invoice reviews, and cost projections.
  • Identify potential cost overruns and update forecasts accordingly.
  • Interface with various departments to provide cost-related data.
  • Prepare and analyze information for monthly cost control meetings.
  • Evaluate and document cost implications of change orders.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updating of financial records.
  • Support review of contracts to implement cost control measures.
  • Track and report effectiveness of risk mitigation measures.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in cost/estimating or financial management in construction.
  • Experience with cost management software and tools.
  • Strong ability to analyze cost data and provide financial insights.
