Job Description: Job Description K&S Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Cost Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, maintaining accurate cost records, and supporting financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, proficient in excel, and prior experience in a manufacturing environment. Additionally, a willingness to work closely with production teams on the manufacturing floor. We are looking for someone who is a continuous learner, adaptable to change, and committed to building strong working relationships across all levels of the organization. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and analyze product costing and manufacturing cost and analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to identify trends and improvement opportunities.Prepare and review cost reports, inventory valuations, and variance analyses.Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes related to inventory and cost accounting.Reconcile inventory accounts and investigate discrepancies.Collaborate with production, engineering, purchasing, and operations teams to understand manufacturing processes and cost drivers.Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.Assist with maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and cost standards.Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory accounting.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Qualifications PreferredExperience within metal fabrication, machining, welding, or industrial manufacturing environments.Experience with standard costing, job costing, and variance analysis.
