Overview

Relode is seeking a Correctional LVN to provide nursing services at a Correctional Facility in Huntsville, Texas. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in an environment that supports over 126,000 patients across the Texas correctional system, with a focus on managed health care and innovative practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide nursing services, treatments, and diagnostic procedures for inmate care and safety
  • Interpret physicians' orders and administer prescribed medication
  • Assist physician with sick calls when present
  • Apply surgical dressings and bandages
  • Provide emergency first aid care
  • Check and record vital signs
  • Instruct inmates on discharge planning
  • Observe and report signs during sick calls
  • Instruct and supervise correctional staff on inmate health care needs
  • Maintain accurate medical records and health care education for inmates

Required skills

  • Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program
  • Current license/permit as a vocational nurse in Texas
  • 1+ year of Med/Surg, LTAC, or floor experience
  • Current BLS-HP certification
  • IV Therapy certified before hire date
