The ideal candidate will manage transactions and be capable of independent responsibility for major documentation. Moreover, the position requires experience in capital markets transactions, general corporate law, and complex mergers and acquisitions.In this environment, an entrepreneurial approach, a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work in an independent manner among a group of high performing professionals is a requirement. This position offers excellent growth opportunities for experienced professionals interested in advising premier corporations, financial institutions, and private equity clients.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Taking a thoughtful and analytical approach with a high attention to detail to:Drafting, reviewing and revising various transactional documents (including purchase/sale agreements, operating agreements, stock/share-related transactions, etc.)Assisting on due diligence projects for M&A and private equity transactionsIdentifying and relaying issues to senior attorneys for resolutionEngaging in a collaborative and enthusiastic manner to:Communicate and interact with clients, partners, counsel, associates and staffDevelop practice area expertise, assist with knowledge management and business development efforts and participate in training sessionsRequirements:J.D. from an accredited law school and a member in good standing of the Illinois State BarThree year's work experience in a corporate law environmentStrong attention to detail and excellent organizational skillsEnergetic and enthusiastic about knowledge of transactional/corporate workTeam-oriented mindset as well as the ability to take ownership of and complete tasks without direct supervisionInterpersonal skills enabling successful and professional communicationAbility to work under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlinesAvailable to work overtime on nights and weekendsHart David Carson LLP is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
