Overview

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Construction Executive for their Advanced Manufacturing, Science & Technology (AMS&T) division. This role involves managing field operations on significant construction projects, focusing on delivering work safely and efficiently. As a key leader, the executive will foster team development, ensure quality and safety, and drive strategic initiatives within the business unit.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as 'Master Builder', advising teams on field execution topics.
  • Establish and monitor safety and quality metrics across projects.
  • Lead site services utilization for all projects within the division.
  • Participate in project financial forecasts and health assessments.
  • Coordinate staffing and resource management for field roles.
  • Engage with the community to build relationships with local contractors and unions.
  • Support recruitment, training, and career development of superintendents.
  • Resolve jurisdictional disputes with operations management.
  • Foster client relationships and support business development efforts.
  • Lead opportunities to strengthen industry partnerships.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 20+ years of experience in construction industry
  • 5+ years in a leadership role on large projects
  • OSHA 30-hour certified
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and mentor teams
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and construction software tools
  • Knowledge of Pull Planning Process
  • First Aid, CPR, AED training
