Overview

The Compliance Officer for Fintech Services at Midland States Bank is responsible for leading compliance efforts related to third-party programs, including Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Fintech partnerships. This role involves advising senior management on regulatory compliance issues, overseeing compliance risks, and managing a team to ensure adherence to legislative and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead compliance efforts for third-party programs and Fintech partnerships
  • Manage a team of compliance professionals
  • Evaluate and monitor third-party vendor performance
  • Provide compliance expertise on bank-wide projects and new product offerings
  • Conduct risk assessments and prepare reports for senior management
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Maintain documentation for audit purposes

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Risk Management, Business Administration or related field
  • 8+ years of banking compliance experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Understanding of federal and state banking regulations
  • Compliance professional certifications (e.g., CRCM)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
