Overview

The Commercial Construction Superintendent will manage medium-sized teams of 10 to 30 workers on various long-term commercial projects, including retail improvements, restaurants, healthcare facilities, and office buildings. This role involves on-site supervision focused on safety compliance, quality standards, and effective coordination with subcontractors and clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise daily site operations to meet project timelines and quality standards
  • Enforce adherence to safety regulations and OSHA standards
  • Coordinate scheduling and workflow among workers and subcontractors
  • Manage subcontractor performance and resolve on-site issues
  • Maintain communication with clients and project stakeholders
  • Monitor quality control measures throughout project phases
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to Project Manager and Construction Director
  • Travel locally between project sites as required

Required skills

  • 5 years of experience in commercial construction
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting construction plans
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards
  • Experience with budget management and scheduling software
  • Proven leadership skills managing medium-sized teams
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
  • Commitment to quality assurance and subcontractor coordination
