Job Description

Overview

Davie Construction is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator to assist the Chief Estimator in planning and coordinating the estimating program. The role involves reviewing specifications, preparing estimates, and supporting the bidding process for construction projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work.
  • Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
  • Assist Chief Estimator in managing the bidding process.
  • Send ITBs through Bid Software.
  • Participate in turn-over meetings and maintain working documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of inquiries and evaluation of submitted bids.
  • Track awarded contracts and maintain bidding schedule.
  • Research and expand vendor/subcontractor networks.
  • Provide effective customer service to ensure client satisfaction.

Required skills

  • Four year degree or equivalent experience in construction estimating.
  • Extensive experience in facility construction estimating.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with construction accounting, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to read and analyze technical drawings and business forms.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Valid Driver's License.
