Job Description

Overview

As a Commercial Concrete Estimator at B&B Concrete, you will be responsible for creating accurate bid proposals and conducting scope analysis for construction projects. Your role will involve estimating costs for labor, materials, and equipment, while also fostering relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to support the company's growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and interpret job bid instructions and specifications
  • Prepare detailed material take-offs for pricing estimates
  • Estimate costs for labor, materials, and equipment including cranes
  • Review proposals and attend pre-bid meetings to define project scope
  • Incorporate safety considerations into the estimating process
  • Develop relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, and general contractors
  • Manage the buyout process in collaboration with the Project Manager

Required skills

  • 2+ years estimating large commercial concrete projects
  • Knowledge of cast in place concrete construction
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read technical and legal documents
  • Understanding of structural products like joists and decks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with B2W software is a plus
  • Creative, results-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
