Job Description

Overview

The Commercial Concrete Estimator at B&B Concrete is responsible for providing accurate bid proposals and scope analysis for construction projects. This role involves project management, material purchasing, and developing new business for the company.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare pricing estimates on new projects and change orders
  • Read job bid instructions and prepare material take-offs
  • Estimate labor, materials, and equipment costs
  • Review proposals and specifications to determine the scope of work
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and contractors
  • Oversee the buyout process with the Project Manager

Required skills

  • 2+ years of estimating large commercial concrete projects
  • Knowledge of cast in place concrete construction and foundations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents
  • Familiarity with related structural products
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with B2W software is a plus
  • Creative, results-oriented, and self-motivated
