Job Description

Overview

National Scouting Report (NSR) is seeking a College Softball Scout with collegiate playing or coaching experience to evaluate talent and provide guidance to athletes and their families on their recruiting journey. This remote role involves on-field evaluations, relationship building, and collaborating with coaches and organizations to help athletes find the right college fit.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate prospective softball student-athletes at showcases, tournaments, and local events
  • Conduct interviews with athletes and families to assess athletic, academic, and recruiting readiness
  • Enroll qualified athletes into appropriate NSR recruiting programs
  • Build relationships with high school and travel ball coaches, trainers, and softball organizations
  • Collaborate with NSR's internal recruiting and evaluation teams
  • Maintain accurate records and reports within NSR systems
  • Represent NSR professionally at events and in the community

Required skills

  • Collegiate softball playing experience or HS/Travel/College coaching background
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable working with families in a consultative, educational role
  • Self-motivated and organized with a flexible schedule
  • Sales or marketing experience is a strong plus
