Overview

CMTS LLC is seeking a QA Civil Inspector for airfield infrastructure and electrical projects in Tampa, FL. The role focuses on performing quality assurance inspections to ensure compliance with FAA standards and project specifications on active aviation construction sites, contributing to impactful infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform QA inspections for aviation and airfield infrastructure construction projects
  • Conduct field inspections and monitor contractor activities
  • Inspect grading, excavation, earthwork, concrete paving, asphalt paving, and underground utility installations
  • Monitor installation of airfield electrical systems
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, and testing reports
  • Coordinate with contractors and project stakeholders regarding quality and compliance issues
  • Document inspection activities and verify corrective actions
  • Participate in project and safety meetings
  • Assist with project closeout documentation and punch list activities
  • Maintain organized inspection reports and quality records

Required skills

  • 7-15 years of QA/QC inspection or civil construction inspection experience
  • Strong experience with runway and taxiway construction projects
  • Knowledge of FAA airfield construction standards
  • Experience with airfield electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of OSHA safety regulations
