Job Description

Overview

The Child Care Lead Teacher at Keene Young Mens is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and culturally aware environment for children while supporting the YMCA's mission. This role includes building meaningful relationships with members and implementing curriculum while ensuring a stable atmosphere in the classroom.

Key responsibilities

  • Build personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests
  • Implement curriculum within established guidelines
  • Supervise children and classroom activities at all times
  • Make ongoing observations and evaluations of each child
  • Maintain program site and equipment
  • Keep required program records
  • Participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training

Required skills

  • Education and experience qualifications established by childcare licensing
  • At least 18 years of age
  • CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Child Abuse prevention training
  • Health form completion
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting
