Job Description

Overview

Valley West Health Care Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join their dedicated team in Eugene, Oregon. The COTA will provide direct occupational therapy rehab care to patients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, focusing on enhancing patients' quality of life through skilled support and compassionate assistance.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct rehab care in occupational therapy under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Follow occupational treatment plans for patients
  • Chart appropriately and timely
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients
  • Assist in patient evacuation when necessary
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan for patient needs
  • Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information
  • Participate in community health projects as appropriate

Required skills

  • NBCOT certified
  • Licensed in applicable state
  • Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • CPR certification
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care facility functions
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
