Overview

The Certified Nurse Assistant, Nurse Assistant, or Trainee position at L.E. Cox Medical Centers involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff within a 30-bed medical-surgical unit. The unit focuses on diverse medical, surgical, and gynecologic/oncology care, catering to a wide range of patient diagnoses and offering professional development opportunities in a supportive team culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care under the supervision of clinical staff
  • Perform tasks such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, and moving patients
  • Change linens and other duties within the scope of practice as directed
  • Report patient condition changes to nursing staff
  • Obtain information on patient conditions as requested

Required skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to work in a multi-tasking environment
  • 3 months of experience as a nursing assistant, EMT, or Surgical Technologist
  • Completion of an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program or nursing fundamentals course
