Overview

Colt Builders Corp is seeking experienced Construction Carpenters for a federal project at Fort Irwin, California. This position is part of a Davis-Bacon prevailing wage project, offering competitive compensation and the opportunity to work in a high-profile military installation.

Key responsibilities

  • Follow all Colt safety policy and site-specific safety procedures
  • Represent Colt professionally to clients
  • Perform tasks as assigned by Foreman and Site Supervisor
  • Comply with safety standards and report unsafe conditions
  • Attend weekly safety meetings
  • Execute project operations accurately and timely
  • Select appropriate tools and materials for tasks
  • Train new employees and apprentice carpenters
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Adapt to changing safety rules

Required skills

  • Basic framing knowledge
  • Basic plan reading skills
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in wood construction
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Basic safety knowledge
  • Manual dexterity and good sense of balance
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
