Overview

The Cardiology Physician Assistant role at the WVU Heart & Vascular Institute offers an opportunity to join a supportive cardiology team focused on patient-centered care. The position includes a balanced mix of outpatient and inpatient responsibilities while promoting a sustainable work-life balance.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a patient load of approximately 14 patients per day in the clinic and 10 inpatient consultations.
  • Participate in shared call rotation of 1:5 weekends.
  • Collaborate with an established cardiology team and receive mentorship from physicians.
  • Utilize virtual scribes to minimize documentation tasks.
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient cardiology care.

Required skills

  • Licensed Physician Assistant or eligible for licensure in West Virginia
  • Background in cardiology preferred or strong interest from new graduates
  • Ability to work in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Commitment to team-based and patient-centered care
