Job DescriptionJob DescriptionNew Orleans, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an experienced Draftsman / Designer to support custom metal fabrication projects. This position is responsible for creating accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings, shop-ready fabrication documents, and bills of materials using SolidWorks. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment and enjoys collaborating with production teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and ready for fabrication.Pay: $22.00-$30.00/hour (based on experience)Essential Duties:Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using SolidWorks.Develop shop-ready fabrication drawings and bills of materials (BOMs).Revise drawings based on field measurements, customer feedback, and production requirements.Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and shop personnel throughout the design process.Ensure all drawings meet company standards, customer specifications, and safety requirements.Support fabrication and production teams by providing accurate and timely design documentation.Manage multiple drafting projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.Requirements/Skills:Proven experience as a Draftsman or Designer in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment preferred.Strong proficiency with SolidWorks is required.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.Knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, and manufacturing tolerances.Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Experience with structural steel, aluminum, custom metal fabrication, furniture, or casework drafting is a plus.Understanding of shop floor processes and production workflows is preferred.Physical Requirements:Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.Frequent use of a computer and drafting software.Ability to occasionally visit the production floor while following all required safety procedures and PPE requirements.Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.Equal Opportunity Statement:Flexicrew Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with FTS is governed on the basis of merit, competence, and qualifications.
