Job Description

Overview

The Building Maintenance Engineer at NorthPoint Development is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of commercial and industrial properties in Dallas, Texas. This role requires anticipating, identifying, and resolving issues related to building maintenance while ensuring a safe environment for all tenants and visitors.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all aspects of commercial and industrial real estate.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire sprinkler systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on physical structures and systems.
  • Respond to and complete service requests.
  • Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance and service requests.
  • Conduct monthly property walks to address identified issues.
  • Assist in keeping grounds neat and perform clean-up tasks.
  • Work with subcontractors and vendors as required.
  • Manage routine subcontract work for contract performance and quality.

Required skills

  • Experience in commercial building maintenance.
  • High school diploma, GED or related experience.
  • EPA 608 certification.
  • Strong technical competence and commercial awareness.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs).
  • Tools and transportation for maintenance tasks.
