Overview

VitalCore Health Strategies is looking for a Bilingual (Spanish-Speaking) Activity Technician to join their team at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington, Delaware. This full-time role involves providing support for the emotional and social well-being of individuals in a correctional facility, facilitating therapeutic and recreational activities under the guidance of licensed professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead group therapy activities
  • Plan treatment goals with the behavioral health team
  • Cooperate in coordinating and implementing recreation therapy
  • Observe patients' progress and engagement in programs
  • Document clinical notes in electronic health records
  • Notify supervisors of urgent issues requiring intervention
  • Attend required training and meetings
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in therapeutic recreation or related field
  • Experience in a correctional mental health setting preferred
  • Ability to pass a background investigation
