Overview

The Benefits & Leave Specialist at Altra Federal Credit Union plays a pivotal role in managing employee benefits and leave programs, ensuring compliance and high-quality support for staff. This position embodies Altra's people-first culture, focusing on empowering employees by administering benefits that cater to their well-being and financial security.

Key responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and voluntary benefits.
  • Manage employee leave programs such as FMLA, state leave, ADA accommodations, military leave, and short-term disability.
  • Process life event benefits changes accurately and timely.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for benefits and leave inquiries, providing clear guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with benefits and leave-related federal, state, and local laws.
  • Maintain accurate records in HRIS and benefit systems.
  • Oversee open enrollment activities and employee education about benefits.
  • Collaborate with HR team members to enhance employee experience.
  • Prepare necessary reports, audits, and documentation.
  • Serve as a backup for wellness programs, payroll, and HRIS reporting.

Required skills
