We are seeking a meticulous banquet captain to supervise and manage all banquet events for our Club. As the banquet captain, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring that banquet operations run smoothly, and prioritizing the comfort and safety of our guests.To be a successful Banquet Captain, you should have strong leadership skills and be able to manage multiple streams of information. Ultimately, a banquet captain should remain calm in highly stressful situations and demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.JDM Golf Teammates will role model the core values and behaviors by:Cultivating a positive teamwork environment.Being efficient with time at work.Communicating effectively with management, co-workers, and guests.Being flexible.Maintaining integrity in all conversations and actions.Consistently reporting to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.Following internal procedures and external regulations; and reporting issues to management.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities listed below are essential to the employee's position.Ability to perform all operational positions within the banquet operations.Participate in and lead department meetings.Process banquet checks accurately and efficiently for payment.Assist with banquet staff weekly schedule.Assist management, staff and organizers with planning the layout and logistics of events.Delegate duties to servers and oversee activity throughout events.Supervise setup and service of food and beverages.Confirm setup of event spaces according to customer specifications prior to event including moving furniture and general clean-up if necessary;Communicate customer needs to kitchen staff.Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance.Train and develop catering servers using existing training materials.Meet and greet clients contacts.Venue layout, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set-ups, room capacities, hours of operation, price ranges, and dress code.Communicating to staff in pre-function meetings all specific set-up needs of buffets, receptions, and overview of daily events.Bill the guest main contact following banquet event order requirements.Team Member handbook: enforce and adhere to The Arizona Biltmore Golf Club policies.Maintain complete knowledge of: All menu selections available in banquet and restaurant.Conform with all safety standards and use of all appropriate safety equipment.Performs other duties, as assigned.QualificationsEducation and Experience RequiredHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED).Minimum two years catering operations or banquet experience, or relevant experience, preferably in a lead of supervisor capacity.Skills and AbilitiesAble to be flexible when taking on tasks, prioritizing as necessary, and in handling situationsStrong organizational and time-management skillsStrong written and verbal communicationAble to learn quickly when faced with new problems and challengesIs easy to approach; enjoys interacting with co-workers, and guests/members as requiredAbility to multi-taskRemains calm under pressureSkilled at active listening, retaining knowledge and acting upon itOpen to changeEnjoys working hard; is action oriented and full of energyComputer SkillsRequired:Ability to use event management applicationProficient in MS Office SuiteAbility to use employee self-service on company's human resources/payroll databaseCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsRequired: Position may utilize golf carts; thus, must have a valid driver's license.Must be at least 19 years of age.Must have Manager-
