Overview

The Avionics/Electrical Technician 2 at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is responsible for providing technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft systems to ensure safety and quality. This role involves installation, functional testing of components, and ensuring documentation for all work performed, while adhering to strict safety regulations and program compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components on aircraft.
  • Troubleshoot and repair system discrepancies to minimize schedule impact.
  • Conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
  • Document all work performed on aircraft for inspection readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with company FOD program, tool control program, and safety regulations.
  • Adapt to schedule changes and may assist with flight tests on aircraft.

Required skills

  • Experience in avionics/electrical career field (4 years or 2 years of accredited schooling plus 2 years experience).
  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Technical skills in splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting other aircraft systems such as hydraulics and landing gear.
