Overview

The Avionics/Electrical Technician 2 at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Westfield, Massachusetts, is responsible for providing technical expertise in testing aircraft systems, troubleshooting, and repairing discrepancies. The role emphasizes maintaining safety and quality standards while adapting to changing schedules. Candidates with Gulfstream or corporate aircraft avionics experience are preferred.

Key responsibilities

  • Demonstrates technical skills in avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting.
  • Installs and functionally tests electrical and avionics components on aircraft.
  • Ensures quality and efficiency of installations and timely repairs of malfunctioning systems.
  • Repairs or replaces defective components and wiring to meet conformity standards.
  • Complies with engineering changes and modifications as required.
  • Operates necessary test equipment and conducts performance tests.
  • Documents all work performed on the aircraft for inspection.
  • Maintains test equipment and complies with safety regulations.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Four years experience in avionics/electrical field or two years of accredited schooling plus two years related experienc
  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred
  • Technical expertise in aircraft systems and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems preferred
