Job Description

Overview

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will be pivotal in enhancing the reliability and performance of the automation systems in fulfillment centers. You will provide proactive controls automation and technical support while collaborating with various teams to optimize material handling equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the site expert for maintaining critical automation systems.
  • Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling control systems including PLC/PC controllers.
  • Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address performance issues.
  • Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians.
  • Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance system performance.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of PLC
  • Experience in PLC based controls design, development, implementation, and support.
  • Proficiency with Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs.
  • Experience with industrial control systems, both hardware and software.
