Overview

Kaiva Tech, LLC is looking for an Attorney to provide support to the Office for Civil Rights by reviewing and processing civil rights complaints. The role involves legal evaluations related to jurisdiction and complaint sufficiency, drafting legal documents, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and assess incoming civil rights complaints for eligibility
  • Conduct legal and jurisdictional analyses under federal civil rights authorities
  • Evaluate complaint sufficiency, timeliness, and legal merit
  • Recommend appropriate OCR case dispositions
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files
  • Utilize OCR Case Management System and Document Management platforms
  • Coordinate with complainants for necessary clarifications and information
  • Support rapid resolution efforts and compliance with OCR policies
  • Ensure compliance with federal privacy and information security requirements
  • Support OCR quality assurance initiatives for legal sufficiency
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a high-volume environment

Required skills

  • Excellent legal writing and technical documentation skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume caseloads

  • Active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant legal experience
