Job Description

Overview

The Associate Scientist, QC position at Olon USA LLC involves performing chemical analyses and ensuring quality control within a GMP analytical laboratory. The role requires conducting tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods while adhering to established cGMP and GLP procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform HPLC, GC, FTIR, KF, DSC, TGA, NMR, and other chemical analyses.
  • Inspect raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods.
  • Coordinate raw material testing and manage data generation for client projects.
  • Review data for technical content and maintain good record keeping practices.
  • Conduct inspections of manufacturing supplies and laboratory procedures.
  • Dispose of expired samples and chemicals safely.
  • Perform routine ICP-MS and ICP-OES analysis for trace metals as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with manufacturing and quality personnel.

Required skills

  • B.S. in chemistry with 3+ years or M.S. with 1+ year of related experience.
  • Experience with good laboratory and manufacturing practices (GLP/cGMP).
  • Strong experience with HPLC and GC.
  • Familiarity with FTIR, TGA, DSC, NMR, XRD, IC, ICP-MS, and ICP-OES.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Basic chemical knowledge and ability to handle materials safely.
  • Effective multitasking and communication skills.
