Overview

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Associate Manager of Quality Engineering to oversee quality assurance operations for the Sky Raider II program at Davis-Monthan AFB. This role entails managing QA personnel, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and addressing quality and safety discrepancies in aircraft maintenance processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to QA personnel
  • Implement and maintain program quality plans and procedures for aircraft maintenance operations
  • Review and analyze quality and safety discrepancies
  • Investigate problems and develop corrective actions for recurring discrepancies
  • Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customers, and subcontractors
  • Oversee maintenance Quality, Safety and Hazardous Material Programs
  • Perform inspections and critical task inspections on OA-1K aircraft
  • Coordinate on-the-job training for QA personnel
  • Conduct briefings on quality operations and program status
  • Ensure compliance with Communications Security policies

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience or 10 years in lieu of a degree
  • FAA A&P certification with hands-on aircraft maintenance experience
  • Experience in Aircraft Quality Control/Audit
  • Supervisory/management experience in a QA role
  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft safety directives and flight line operations
  • Working knowledge of computers for data management
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
  • Valid U.S. driving license and ability to obtain a government flight line driver license
