Job Description

Overview

The Associate Manager of Quality Engineering at L3Harris Technologies will oversee and manage all Quality Assurance personnel and operations for the Sky Raider II program at Davis-Monthan AFB. This role involves implementing quality plans and procedures, ensuring compliance with FAA and company standards, and directly supervising QA personnel to enhance quality and safety in aircraft maintenance operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead all QA personnel at Davis-Monthan AFB.
  • Implement and maintain quality plans and procedures for OA-1K aircraft maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer, company, and FAA regulatory standards.
  • Analyze quality and safety discrepancies related to aircraft maintenance processes.
  • Investigate issues and develop corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
  • Interface with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and critical task inspections on OA-1K aircraft.
  • Coordinate on-the-job training for newly assigned QA personnel.
  • Monitor deficiency reports and implement corrective measures.
  • Conduct briefings on quality operations and program status.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) with relevant work experience
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience or 10 years in lieu of a degree
  • Hands-on aircraft maintenance experience as FAA A&P
  • Experience in Aircraft Quality Control/Assurance
  • Supervisory or management experience
  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA)
  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft safety directives and flight line operations
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft technical orders and publications
  • Experience with hazardous materials related to job
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport for OCONUS travel
