Job Description

Overview

The Associate Dean of the Online Hybrid J.D. (OHJD) Program at Vermont Law and Graduate School will provide strategic, academic, and operational leadership for the program. This role involves ensuring academic quality, maintaining accreditation compliance, and fostering student success, while also participating in senior leadership discussions and decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as institutional lead for ABA Standard 306 and oversee compliance and accreditation processes.
  • Ensure academic quality and curriculum coherence in coordination with faculty leadership.
  • Recruit, support, and develop online and hybrid faculty.
  • Monitor student engagement, retention, and success; oversee advising and academic support services.
  • Manage program operations and collaborate with instructional design and technology staff.
  • Lead strategic planning and external relations for program visibility and engagement.
  • Oversee program budget and support staff development within the program.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's and advanced degree (J.D. or related field) required
  • 7-10 years of leadership experience in higher education or related fields
  • Experience with managing complex academic programs
  • Familiarity with accreditation and regulatory requirements (ABA preferred)
  • Experience in online or hybrid education programs
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative abilities across departments
  • Commitment to inclusive learning environments
