Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition SummaryBellevue University seeks a dedicated and collaborative Assistant Professor to join its Master of Social Work (MSW) program. This is a full-time, at-will faculty position with primary responsibilities in teaching, student engagement, and service to the program, university, and profession. The standard teaching load for this position is nine (9) courses per academic year, with additional expectations for service and participation in program development and continuous improvement.The successful candidate will contribute to a high-quality, student-centered MSW program that prepares ethical, reflective, and competent social work practitioners aligned with Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) competencies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teaching and InstructionTeach graduate-level MSW courses consistent with assigned workload (9 courses per academic year)Deliver instruction aligned with approved curriculum, course objectives, and CSWE EPAS competenciesEmploy inclusive, evidence-informed, and engaging instructional strategies appropriate for graduate social work educationIntegrate theory, research, policy, and practice across micro, mezzo, and macro levelsAssess student learning using established assignments, rubrics, and grading standardsProvide timely, constructive, and developmentally appropriate feedback to studentsMaintain accurate academic records and meet all grading and reporting deadlinesTeach in online, hybrid, or on-ground formats, as determined by program needs Program and University ServiceParticipation in MSW program meetings, committees, and curriculum development initiativesContribution to program assessment, accreditation-related activities, and continuous quality improvementEngagement in student advising, mentoring, and support as assignedParticipation in university service activities, including committees, task forces, or faculty governanceCollaboration with colleagues to support program growth, innovation, and mission alignment Professional EngagementMaintain professional competence and knowledge of current trends in social work education and practiceUphold the NASW Code of Ethics and Bellevue University policiesEngage in ongoing professional development, scholarship, or practice-related activities consistent with the role Required QualificationsMaster of Social Work (MSW) degree from a CSWE-accredited programMinimum of two years of post-MSW professional social work practice experienceDemonstrated commitment to social work values, ethics, and social justiceStrong teaching, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to teach effectively in an online learning environment or willingness to complete required training Preferred QualificationsDoctoral degree in social work (DSW or PhD) or a closely related fieldPrior teaching experience in higher education, preferably in an MSW programExperience in areas aligned with program needs (e.g., clinical practice, trauma-informed care, supervision, policy, research, leadership, or field education)Experience with curriculum development, assessment, or accreditation processes Pay and BenefitsThe yearly salary for this role ranges from $65,000 - $80,000Bellevue University full-time faculty enjoy an excellent benefits package which include: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 403(b) retirement and tuition remission.
