Overview

Ontario Center is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in Canandaigua, NY, offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for new hires. The role involves assisting with management responsibilities, ensuring quality care, and maintaining effective communication with nursing staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the DNS with management responsibilities
  • Maintain quality of care
  • Responsible for Wound/Skin Rounds weekly
  • Ensure effective communication with all levels of nursing staff
  • Meet nursing medical needs of all residents on call 24 hours
  • Coordinate and direct planning for nursing services
  • Complete medical records accurately and timely
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, and orienting new nursing staff
  • Oversee daily staffing process and infection control
  • Maintain flexibility with work schedule

Required skills

  • Current State RN license
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Long-Term Care settings
  • 2 years of management experience preferred
  • 1 year of staff education experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Evidence of basic leadership skills
  • Flexible hours
