Overview

Skilled Nursing of Bronx is looking for an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in managing nursing operations and ensuring high-quality patient care. The role includes maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and overseeing nursing staff within the facility.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing with management responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly Wound/Skin Rounds
  • Ensure effective communication with nursing staff
  • Address the medical needs of residents, being on call 24/7
  • Coordinate and direct nursing services planning
  • Maintain knowledge of general nursing theory and practice
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of medical records
  • Participate in hiring and orienting new nursing staff
  • Oversee daily staffing processes and infection control
  • Maintain flexibility in work schedule to meet unpredictable needs

Required skills

  • Current State RN license
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Long-Term Care settings
  • 2 years of management experience preferred
  • 1 year of staff education experience preferred
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Basic leadership skills and supervision
